This is a chewy, extra-thick udon noodle that was commercialized in 2011. It was originally made exclusively for curry udon, but it has become so popular that some udon restaurants now exclusively serve this udon.
This udon noodle has the chewy texture that is unique to domestic wheat and Shimanto water.
